138mysx won with a balanced offense centered on Glimmora holding Glimmoranite, backed by several of the most reliable support and damage pieces in the top cut. Glimmora’s set of Earth Power, Power Gem, Sludge Bomb, and Spiky Shield gave it flexible attacking coverage while Toxic Debris added another layer of pressure across longer games. Around it, Whimsicott provided Focus Sash Prankster Tailwind, giving the team a clear speed-control plan without needing to commit its Mega slot to that role.
The rest of the roster covered a wide range of board states. Alolan Ninetales brought Snow Warning with Blizzard and Freeze-Dry, plus Helping Hand to amplify partners. Garchomp, holding Life Orb, gave the team strong Ground and Dragon damage through Stomping Tantrum, Earthquake, and Dragon Claw. Kingambit used Chople Berry with Defiant, Kowtow Cleave, Sucker Punch, Low Kick, and Iron Head, making it both a priority threat and a strong answer into Intimidate-heavy games. Incineroar rounded the team out with Sitrus Berry, Intimidate, Fake Out, Flare Blitz, Throat Chop, and Parting Shot, giving 138mysx the standard defensive pivoting needed to position the faster attackers.
Across the top standings, several trends were very clear. Whimsicott appeared on three of the top four teams, each time with Focus Sash, Prankster, Moonblast, Tailwind, and Protect or utility options such as Encore or Charm. Garchomp also appeared on three of the top four teams, always with Life Orb and Rough Skin, showing how consistent its Earthquake and Dragon Claw pressure was in this event.
Kingambit was just as prominent, appearing on the first, second, and fourth-place teams. The exact item varied between Chople Berry and Black Glasses, but Defiant, Kowtow Cleave, and Sucker Punch were common threads. Incineroar remained important as well, appearing on the winning team and leoscerni’s third-place Perish Song composition, with Fake Out and Parting Shot providing key positioning tools.
Mega choices were diverse near the top: Glimmoranite won the event, while Floettite, Charizardite Y, Gengarite, and Staraptite all appeared in the top four. That spread suggests the format was not locked into a single Mega direction, even though the supporting cores around Whimsicott, Garchomp, Kingambit, and Incineroar were highly concentrated.
Takeaway for ladder players: start by preparing for Focus Sash Whimsicott Tailwind, Life Orb Garchomp, and Defiant Kingambit, then choose a Mega that gives your team a distinct matchup angle.
