Place Player Record Team
1 JC1021 [ES] 6-1-0 Gholdengo / Excadrill / Tyranitar / Staraptor / Sinistcha / Milotic
2 Zinso [DE] 5-2-0 Sneasler / Excadrill / Tyranitar / Sceptile / Heat Rotom / Indeedee ♀
3 Yisso [IT] 5-1-0 Salamence / Gengar / Volcarona / Incineroar / Rillaboom / Garchomp
4 gnateo [IT] 4-2-0 Whimsicott / Charizard / Kingambit / Garchomp / Basculegion / Sneasler

JC1021’s winning team was built around a clear sand mode with Tyranitar and Excadrill. Tyranitar used Tyranitarite, Sand Stream, Dragon Dance, Rock Slide, Knock Off, and Protect, while Excadrill paired Focus Sash with Sand Rush and carried High Horsepower, Iron Head, Rock Slide, and Protect. That gives the team immediate pressure in sand while still keeping Protect on both pieces for positioning.

The rest of the team gave the sand core multiple ways to function outside of straightforward offense. Gholdengo held Life Orb with Good as Gold, using Shadow Ball, Make It Rain, Nasty Plot, and Protect as a strong special attacker. Staraptor added Intimidate, Tailwind, Brave Bird, Close Combat, and Protect with Staraptite, giving JC1021 another speed-control route and a physical pivot into damage. Sinistcha brought Rocky Helmet, Hospitality, Matcha Gotcha, Strength Sap, Rage Powder, and Protect, making it the team’s clearest redirection and recovery support piece. Milotic rounded things out with Sitrus Berry, Competitive, Scald, Ice Beam, Icy Wind, and Protect, adding another speed-control option while punishing Intimidate-based play.

The top standings showed several repeated structures. Excadrill plus Tyranitar appeared on both finalist teams, with JC1021 and Zinso both using Focus Sash Excadrill with Sand Rush alongside Sand Stream Tyranitar. Sneasler was also common across the broader top cut, appearing on Zinso’s, gnateo’s, zzsachi’s, MannyMan’s, and Kenchoodle’s teams, most often tied to Unburden and either White Herb, Focus Sash, or Electric Seed.

Salamence with Salamencite was another major presence, appearing on Yisso, zzsachi, MannyMan, and ZUNETHEGOAT. Garchomp with Life Orb showed up on Yisso and gnateo, while Kingambit appeared on gnateo, zzsachi, and MannyMan with Defiant sets. Support patterns were also consistent: Tailwind appeared on Staraptor, Salamence, Whimsicott, and Volcarona, while Fake Out was represented by Sneasler, Incineroar, Rillaboom, and Raichu.

Takeaway for ladder players: sand with Excadrill and Tyranitar remained a proven core here, but the winning version succeeded by layering Tailwind, Icy Wind, Rage Powder, and Competitive support around it.
