| Place | Player | Record | Team |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | misoup [US] | 10-1-0 | Excadrill, Salamence, Tyranitar, Indeedee, Corviknight, Sneasler |
| 2 | Amethyst_sys [DE] | 8-3-0 | Absol, Aerodactyl, Rillaboom, Sneasler, Pelipper, Archaludon |
| 3 | WestyLiam [GB] | 9-1-0 | Blastoise, Delphox, Sinistcha, Sneasler, Kingambit, Incineroar |
| 4 | laleli [PA] | 7-3-0 | Tyranitar, Salamence, Excadrill, Indeedee, Sneasler, Corviknight |
misoup’s winning team was built around a clear sand-plus-pressure core. Tyranitar carried Tyranitarite with Sand Stream, giving the team immediate weather control and enabling Excadrill’s Sand Rush. Excadrill’s Focus Sash, Jolly nature, and coverage of Iron Head, High Horsepower, Rock Slide, and Protect gave the team a fast physical attacker that could function reliably in sand and still have a safety net.
The double Mega structure with Salamence and Tyranitar was a major part of the composition’s flexibility. Salamence used Salamencite with Intimidate and a Timid special set of Hyper Voice, Draco Meteor, Flamethrower, and Protect, giving misoup spread damage, special pressure, and an Intimidate pivot before Mega Evolution. Tyranitar’s Rock Slide, Knock Off, Low Kick, and Protect complemented Excadrill by pressuring opposing Mega Pokemon and item-reliant targets.
The support pieces were just as important. Indeedee used Choice Scarf with Psychic Surge and Expanding Force, Mystical Fire, Trick, and Protect, offering terrain control and a disruptive Trick option. Corviknight’s Psychic Seed, Mirror Armor, Bulk Up, Roost, Brave Bird, and Power Trip gave the team a bulky win condition that could take advantage of Psychic Terrain. Sneasler rounded out the six with White Herb, Unburden, Dire Claw, Close Combat, Coaching, and Protect, adding another fast physical threat while also supporting partners through Coaching.
Across the top teams, Sneasler was the most obvious trend, appearing on each of the top four teams with different items and roles: White Herb on misoup and laleli, Grassy Seed on Amethyst_sys, and Focus Sash on WestyLiam. Sand was also prominent, with misoup and laleli both using Tyranitar, Excadrill, Salamence, Indeedee, Sneasler, and Corviknight, with only Corviknight’s attacking move differing between Power Trip and Body Press.
Focus Sash showed up repeatedly near the top, including Excadrill on misoup and laleli, Pelipper on Amethyst_sys, and Sneasler on WestyLiam. Life Orb was another key offensive item, appearing on Rillaboom for Amethyst_sys and Kingambit for WestyLiam. Fake Out remained common as well, appearing on Rillaboom and Sneasler for Amethyst_sys, Sneasler and Incineroar for WestyLiam, and elsewhere in the top eight on Incineroar and Rillaboom.
Takeaway for ladder players: prepare for Sneasler speed control, sand offense, and bulky setup pieces that punish passive positioning.
