SableyeVGC’s winning team is a flexible offense built around fast pressure, priority, and multiple ways to punish positioning mistakes. Salamence with Salamencite / Intimidate gives the team an immediate centerpiece, carrying Hyper Voice, Double-Edge, Tailwind, and Protect. Tailwind is especially important here because the rest of the roster can convert speed control into heavy damage quickly.
The Rillaboom and Sneasler pairing is one of the clearest engines on the team. Rillaboom provides Grassy Surge, Fake Out, Grassy Glide, Wood Hammer, and U-turn, while Sneasler uses Grassy Seed / Unburden with Dire Claw, Close Combat, Fake Out, and Protect. That combination gives SableyeVGC both disruption and a fast attacking mode without needing to commit Salamence immediately.
The remaining three slots add strong endgame and matchup tools. Hisuian Arcanine uses Focus Sash / Rock Head with Flare Blitz, Head Smash, Extreme Speed, and Protect, giving the team a high-damage attacker with priority. Kingambit brings Chople Berry / Defiant and the pressure of Kowtow Cleave, Iron Head, Low Kick, and Sucker Punch. Basculegion rounds out the team with Mystic Water / Adaptability, Wave Crash, Last Respects, Aqua Jet, and Protect, giving the composition another priority user and a threatening late-game attacker.
Across the top teams, Sneasler was one of the defining picks. It appeared on the 1st, 3rd, and 4th place teams, always with Unburden and a Seed item: Grassy Seed on SableyeVGC and HollowedHollowed, Psychic Seed on AVEornot. Rillaboom also appeared twice in the top three, supporting both SableyeVGC and HollowedHollowed with Grassy Surge and Fake Out.
Psychic Terrain and Trick Room were also prominent. karlin22’s runner-up team used Indeedee ♀, Hatterene, Armarouge, and Gallade with multiple Trick Room options, while AVEornot also had Indeedee ♀ with Follow Me, Trick Room, Helping Hand, and Terrain Pulse. Weather showed up through AVEornot’s Charizard and Pelipper pairing, with Venusaur and Archaludon also benefiting from that broader structure.
The listed final-round matches included jhinting defeating thosewhoknow, wolfey defeating conkledonk, and hollowedhollowed defeating jhinting.
Ladder takeaway: prepare for Seed Unburden Sneasler cores, priority-heavy offense, and Psychic Terrain Trick Room teams.
