Eduardo’s winning team was built around a controlled endgame rather than pure speed. Gengar with Gengarite, Cursed Body, Shadow Ball, Perish Song, Substitute, and Protect gave the team a clear trapping-adjacent win condition and a way to pressure passive positions. Politoed added Drizzle, Sitrus Berry, Weather Ball, Perish Song, Icy Wind, and Protect, giving the team a second Perish Song user while also supporting Archaludon.
The Archaludon set was Leftovers with Stamina, Draco Meteor, Flash Cannon, Electro Shot, and Protect. Alongside Politoed’s Drizzle, Electro Shot becomes a major pressure point, while Stamina and Leftovers give Archaludon a durable role in longer games. That fits cleanly with the rest of the composition: Rillaboom and Incineroar both carried Fake Out and Protect, with Rillaboom using Grassy Surge and Incineroar using Intimidate and Parting Shot. Those two give the team repeated positioning tools, chip mitigation, and tempo control.
Vivillon rounded out the first-place list with Focus Sash, Compound Eyes, Hurricane, Sleep Powder, Rage Powder, and Protect. That gives Eduardo redirection, sleep pressure, and a way to force awkward turns while Gengar, Politoed, or Archaludon set up the board state they want.
Across the top teams, Rillaboom was the clearest common piece, appearing on all eight listed teams. Its item varied between Occa Berry and Miracle Seed, but Grassy Surge, Fake Out, and Grassy Glide were consistent themes. Incineroar was also heavily represented, appearing on six of the top eight teams, usually with Intimidate, Fake Out, Flare Blitz, and Parting Shot.
Gengarite Gengar showed up on Eduardo Cunha’s winning team, Sebastiano Trinchitelli’s third-place team, and Federico Camporesi’s seventh-place team, all with Perish Song. Politoed plus Archaludon was shared by first and third, with both Archaludon using Leftovers and Stamina. Another notable cluster was the fourth- and fifth-place core of Glimmora, Kingambit, Salamence, Rillaboom, Volcarona, and Garchomp, including repeated Glimmoranite, Life Orb Kingambit, Salamencite, Charti Berry Volcarona, and Choice Scarf Garchomp.
Takeaway for ladder players: prepare for Rillaboom and Incineroar every round, and have a concrete plan into Perish Song Gengar structures.
