Ninfea Orayani’s winning team was built around multiple flexible speed and pressure pieces rather than a single narrow mode. The Tyranitar and Excadrill pairing was the most direct engine: Tyranitar carried Choice Scarf with Sand Stream, while Excadrill used Focus Sash with Sand Rush. Their attacks also covered a lot of immediate board states, with Tyranitar bringing Ice Punch, Superpower, Rock Slide, and Knock Off, and Excadrill running High Horsepower, Iron Head, Rock Slide, and Protect.
The rest of the team gave that core several ways to avoid being one-dimensional. Staraptor added Intimidate, Tailwind, and strong physical coverage through Close Combat and Brave Bird while holding Staraptite. Milotic provided a sturdier special presence with Sitrus Berry, Competitive, Scald, Icy Wind, Ice Beam, and Protect. Gholdengo was the main Life Orb special attacker, using Good as Gold with Make It Rain, Shadow Ball, Thunderbolt, and Protect. Venusaur rounded out the composition with Venusaurite, Chlorophyll, Modest damage, and a coverage mix of Sludge Bomb, Earth Power, and Giga Drain.
A small but important detail is that all six winning Pokemon carried Protect. Combined with Tailwind from Staraptor, Icy Wind from Milotic, Choice Scarf Tyranitar, and Sand Rush Excadrill, the team had several ways to manage tempo while still keeping offensive pressure high.
Across the top four, Milotic was the clearest repeat Pokemon, appearing on the first-, second-, and fourth-place teams, always with Competitive. The sets varied: Ninfea Orayani used Sitrus Berry with Scald, Icy Wind, Ice Beam, and Protect; vanrougeberry used Leftovers with Muddy Water, Hypnosis, Coil, and Recover; Ceres used Life Orb with Protect, Ice Beam, Icy Wind, and Scald.
Froslass also had a strong showing, appearing on the second- and third-place teams with Froslassite and Cursed Body. Tyranitar appeared on both first and fourth, and both were Choice Scarf, Sand Stream, and Jolly, with Rock Slide and Knock Off shared between them. Gholdengo appeared on first and fourth with Good as Gold, Make It Rain, Shadow Ball, and Protect.
Item trends were similarly concentrated. Focus Sash showed up on Excadrill, Glimmora, Lycanroc Dusk, and Aerodactyl in the top four. Sitrus Berry appeared on Milotic, Farigiraf, Basculegion, and Gholdengo. Life Orb also repeated on Gholdengo, Whimsicott, and Milotic.
Takeaway for ladder players: build with layered speed control and Protect access, not just one fast mode.
