EnryuVGC’s winning team is built around layered pressure rather than a single obvious mode. Staraptor with Staraptite, Intimidate, Tailwind, Dual Wingbeat, Close Combat, and Protect gives the team speed control while still threatening immediate damage. Hisuian Arcanine adds another high-pressure physical attacker with Focus Sash, Rock Head, Flare Blitz, Head Smash, Extreme Speed, and Protect, giving the team priority and strong coverage into many board states.
Kingambit is the major late-game piece, using Life Orb, Defiant, Kowtow Cleave, Sucker Punch, Swords Dance, and Protect. Defiant also fits naturally next to an Intimidate user, giving opponents awkward positioning decisions. Sylveon supplies special spread damage with Fairy Feather, Pixilate, Hyper Voice, Hyper Beam, Quick Attack, and Detect, while Raichu gives Fake Out support and Lightning Rod utility alongside Raichunite Y, Zap Cannon, Focus Blast, and Protect. Farigiraf rounds the six out with Sitrus Berry, Armor Tail, Psychic, Helping Hand, Trick Room, and Protect, letting EnryuVGC play both faster Tailwind turns and slower Trick Room turns depending on matchup.
Across the top cut, Kingambit was the clearest repeated pick. It appeared on the 1st, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th place teams, most often with Defiant, Kowtow Cleave, Sucker Punch, and Protect or Swords Dance. Basculegion was also common among high finishers, showing up on Moreiraxyz07, MacGyverx, Savio, pomoco16, and 0Zeru, usually with Adaptability and Last Respects.
Focus Sash had a strong presence as well. EnryuVGC used it on Hisuian Arcanine, while it appeared on Sneasler, Lycanroc Dusk, Whimsicott, and other Hisuian Arcanine sets across the standings. Life Orb was another recurring damage item, used on EnryuVGC’s Kingambit, NMR’s Alolan Ninetales, and multiple Basculegion teams.
The 3rd, 5th, and 6th place teams were especially similar, all featuring Scovillain, Froslass, Basculegion, Kingambit, Sneasler, and Lycanroc Dusk, with only small differences in details such as Froslass ability spelling, moves, and ordering. Meanwhile, EnryuVGC and MahouMila both used the same six Pokemon: Staraptor, Hisuian Arcanine, Kingambit, Sylveon, Raichu, and Farigiraf, with move differences on Staraptor and Farigiraf.
Takeaway for ladder players: prepare for Kingambit endgames, Basculegion pressure, and flexible speed control from Tailwind, Trick Room, and Fake Out support.
