MaksimPlayz’s winning team was built around direct pressure, speed control, and several strong priority options. Eternal Flower Floette was the headline pick, using Floettite with Flower Veil and a Modest nature alongside Dazzling Gleam, Moonblast, Light of Ruin, and Protect. That gave the team a powerful Fairy-type attacker that could threaten spread damage while still carrying a stronger single-target option.
Whimsicott provided the cleanest support piece on the team. Focus Sash, Prankster, and Timid Tailwind gave MaksimPlayz immediate speed control, while Encore and Protect helped it stay relevant beyond simply setting Tailwind. Basculegion added fast physical pressure with Choice Scarf, Adaptability, and Jolly Wave Crash, Aqua Jet, Flip Turn, and Last Respects. The combination of Choice Scarf speed and Aqua Jet priority made it difficult for opposing teams to rely on conventional speed management alone.
The rest of the roster kept the offensive pressure layered. Kingambit used Black Glasses with Defiant, Kowtow Cleave, Sucker Punch, Iron Head, and Protect, giving the team a strong Dark-type attacker and another priority option. Hisuian Arcanine carried Sitrus Berry with Rock Head, using Flare Blitz, Rock Slide, Head Smash, and Protect for high-damage Fire- and Rock-type coverage. Dragonite rounded out the team with Dragon Fang, Inner Focus, Dragon Claw, Extreme Speed, Low Kick, and Protect, adding yet another priority line through Extreme Speed.
Across the top teams, Sitrus Berry appeared repeatedly, including on Hisuian Arcanine, Pelipper, Farigiraf, and Incineroar within the top four. Focus Sash was also common, showing up on Whimsicott, Sneasler, Hisuian Arcanine, and Annihilape. Kingambit and Hisuian Arcanine both appeared in the first and third place teams, while Raichu with Raichunite Y appeared on both StarAmiiga’s and Airpod’s teams with the same Lightning Rod, Timid, Zap Cannon, Focus Blast, Fake Out, and Protect setup.
Looking beyond the top four, several archetype pieces repeated through the top eight. Charizard with Charizardite Y appeared on NatsukiVGC, OrangeSteve, and Sooner, while Basculegion appeared on MaksimPlayz, OrangeSteve, and Sooner. Farigiraf and Sylveon were also present on multiple high-placing teams, and Pelipper appeared on StarAmiiga, OrangeSteve, and masajji.
Takeaway for ladder players: prepare for layered priority, repeated Sitrus Berry pivots, and flexible speed control rather than relying on one speed mode.
