BHelixB’s winning team is built around layered speed control, sand pressure, and flexible redirection support. Staraptor (Staraptite / Intimidate / Jolly) gives the team Tailwind while still threatening immediate damage with Brave Bird and Close Combat. Milotic adds a second form of speed control with Icy Wind, while Competitive, Haze, and Sitrus Berry make it a useful stabilizer into games where stat changes matter.
The sand mode is direct: Tyranitar (Tyranitarite / Sand Stream / Adamant) enables Excadrill (Focus Sash / Sand Rush / Jolly). Tyranitar also carries Dragon Dance, giving it a way to become a win condition instead of only setting weather, while Excadrill offers Earthquake, Iron Head, and Rock Slide pressure with Protect to manage positioning. Gholdengo (Life Orb / Good as Gold / Modest) provides a special attacking angle with Make It Rain, Shadow Ball, and Nasty Plot. Sinistcha rounds out the structure with Hospitality, Rage Powder, Colbur Berry, and Protect, giving the team a support piece that can help set up or preserve its major attackers.
Across the top teams, Focus Sash was one of the clearest repeated items. BHelixB used it on Excadrill, MaxxUpgrade used it on Sneasler, StuckNebula used it on Glimmora, and Cammo_Ruin used it on Sneasler. Sneasler itself appeared on both MaxxUpgrade’s second-place team and Cammo_Ruin’s fourth-place team, with both sets featuring Poison Touch, Jolly, Close Combat, and Fake Out, though the fourth-place version used Poison Jab and Quick Guard while the runner-up used Dire Claw and Coaching.
Staraptor also stood out, appearing on both the first- and third-place teams with Staraptite, Intimidate, Jolly, Close Combat, and Protect. Tailwind showed up repeatedly as well: BHelixB’s Staraptor, MaxxUpgrade’s Pelipper, StuckNebula’s Whimsicott, and Paperbag34’s Talonflame all carried it. Sitrus Berry was another common stabilizing item among the upper finishers, appearing on Milotic, Pelipper, Garchomp, Klefki, and other teams in the standings.
Weather was prominent but varied. BHelixB used Tyranitar’s Sand Stream alongside Excadrill’s Sand Rush, while MaxxUpgrade paired Swampert with Pelipper’s Drizzle. StuckNebula used Charizard with Charizardite Y, giving the top four three very different approaches to board control through weather, speed, and damage pacing.
Takeaway for ladder players: prioritize teams that combine speed control, protected setup options, and at least one sturdy support Pokemon that lets your main attackers keep pressure safely.
