ChefRich22’s winning team combined immediate speed control, weather pressure, and several strong late-game attackers. Charizard with Charizardite Y, Blaze, Heat Wave, Weather Ball, Solar Beam, and Protect gave the team a central special attacker that could pressure both spread damage and Water- or Ground-weak targets. Whimsicott provided the clean support package: Focus Sash, Prankster, Tailwind, Moonblast, Encore, and Protect. That made it easier for the rest of the team to convert positioning into damage.
Basculegion was the team’s direct Water-type breaker, using Mystic Water and Adaptability with Wave Crash, Last Respects, Aqua Jet, and Protect. The set had both high immediate output and priority access. Eternal Flower Floette was another major special damage piece with Floettite, Flower Veil, Moonblast, Dazzling Gleam, Light of Ruin, and Protect, giving ChefRich22 a strong Fairy-type angle into the field. Garchomp with Life Orb, Rough Skin, Earthquake, Rock Slide, Dragon Claw, and Protect added physical spread pressure, while Kingambit with Black Glasses, Defiant, Kowtow Cleave, Sucker Punch, Iron Head, and Protect gave the roster a dangerous Dark-type endgame option.
Across the top teams, several patterns stood out. Whimsicott appeared on each of the top three teams, and all three used Prankster with Tailwind and Encore. Basculegion also appeared on the top three teams, always with Adaptability, Wave Crash, Last Respects, and Aqua Jet, though the item choices varied between Mystic Water and Choice Scarf. Eternal Flower Floette was used by both ChefRich22 and ColeAmity with Floettite and Flower Veil, showing up as a consistent Fairy-type attacker in the highest finishes.
Charizard with Charizardite Y was another major trend, appearing on ChefRich22, Soilchemy, Paristrats, Davidvillamusic, and Candytrouble. Garchomp with Life Orb and Rough Skin also appeared repeatedly in the top eight, while Kingambit was one of the most common pieces overall, appearing on six of the top eight teams. Focus Sash showed up frequently as well, especially on Whimsicott and Kingambit.
The main ladder takeaway: prepare for Tailwind cores built around Whimsicott, Basculegion, Charizard, and Kingambit, because the top results heavily rewarded fast positioning plus immediate damage.
