CobraKujoBubbles’ winning team was built around strong immediate damage with several flexible speed and positioning tools. Charizard (Charizardite Y / Blaze / Bold) carried Heat Wave, Solar Beam, Weather Ball, and Protect, giving the team spread Fire pressure and broad special coverage. Whimsicott (Focus Sash / Prankster / Timid) supplied Tailwind and Encore alongside Moonblast and Protect, which gave the composition a clear way to force tempo and punish passive turns.
The physical side was just as direct. Basculegion (Life Orb / Adaptability / Adamant) brought Wave Crash, Last Respects, Aqua Jet, and Protect, combining heavy Water damage with priority. Kingambit (Chople Berry / Defiant / Adamant) added Kowtow Cleave, Iron Head, Low Kick, and Sucker Punch, making it a sturdy attacker with priority and anti-Dark/Steel coverage. Garchomp (Sitrus Berry / Rough Skin / Adamant) rounded out the ground pressure with Dragon Claw, Earthquake, Stomping Tantrum, and Protect. Eternal Flower Floette (Floettite / Flower Veil / Timid) gave the team another special attacker with Moonblast, Dazzling Gleam, Light of Ruin, and Protect.
A few trends stood out near the top. Whimsicott appeared on both first and second place, and both used Focus Sash / Prankster / Timid with Moonblast, Encore, Tailwind, and Protect. Kingambit also appeared on the top two teams, though CobraKujoBubbles used Chople Berry while Carni used Life Orb. Basculegion and Eternal Flower Floette were shared by first and fourth, with amantil opting for Choice Scarf Basculegion and a Modest Eternal Flower Floette with Calm Mind over Light of Ruin.
The top cut also showed multiple approaches to speed control and board control. Tailwind was present on Whimsicott, Pelipper, and Dragonite in the broader standings, while Trick Room showed up on Indeedee ♀ and Farigiraf. Focus Sash was a common item across key support or fast attackers, including Whimsicott, Pelipper, Hisuian Arcanine, Excadrill, and Sneasler in the listed standings. Grassy Surge Rillaboom and Intimidate Incineroar appeared outside the top three as well, giving the event a familiar mix of Fake Out, Parting Shot, and priority pressure.
Takeaway for ladder players: prepare for Focus Sash Tailwind cores backed by high-damage priority from picks like Basculegion and Kingambit.
