| 2 | Zephyr0811 [NL] | 7-2-0 | Gardevoir, Indeedee ♀, Sneasler, Hydreigon, Excadrill, Tyranitar |

Coolmanpanda’s winning team leaned into immediate pressure backed by layered support. Charizard with Charizardite Y gave the team a central Fire-type attacker using Heat Wave and Weather Ball, while Venusaur used Focus Sash, Chlorophyll, Leaf Storm, Sludge Bomb, Sleep Powder, and Protect to punish slower positions and threaten disruption. That Charizard plus Venusaur pairing was the clearest offensive axis of the roster.
The rest of the team made that plan harder to stop. Raichu carried Raichunite Y with Lightning Rod, Jolly nature, Fake Out, Focus Blast, Zap Cannon, and Protect, giving Coolmanpanda both Fake Out utility and an Electric redirection angle. Alcremie added a dedicated damage amplifier with Decorate and Helping Hand, plus Dazzling Gleam and Mystical Fire for board presence. Garchomp used Choice Scarf with Dragon Claw, Stomping Tantrum, Rock Slide, and Earthquake, giving the team fast physical coverage and spread damage. Kingambit rounded things out with Chople Berry, Defiant, Kowtow Cleave, Sucker Punch, Iron Head, and Protect, offering priority and a sturdier Dark/Steel piece that could pressure opposing support.
Across the top teams, Garchomp and Charizard were the major repeats. Garchomp appeared on the first, third, and fourth place teams, with Coolmanpanda using Choice Scarf while Herasitoo and ABBADON used Garchompite Z. Charizard also appeared on those same three teams, all with Charizardite Y, though Herasitoo and ABBADON listed Solar Power while Coolmanpanda listed Blaze.
Weather was a major theme. Coolmanpanda had the Charizard and Venusaur sun pairing, Herasitoo combined Charizard, Venusaur, and Pelipper with Drizzle, and ABBADON brought Charizard alongside Alolan Ninetales with Snow Warning. Zephyr0811 took a different direction with Tyranitar and Excadrill, using Sand Stream and Sand Rush next to Gardevoir, Indeedee ♀, Sneasler, and Hydreigon.
Support items and setup enablers were also common. Focus Sash appeared on Venusaur for Coolmanpanda and Herasitoo, Excadrill for Zephyr0811, and Whimsicott for ABBADON. Sneasler appeared on both Zephyr0811’s Psychic Seed team and ABBADON’s Grassy Seed team. Rillaboom with Miracle Seed and Grassy Surge showed up in fourth, while also appearing repeatedly just below the top four.
Takeaway for ladder players: prepare for Charizardite Y teams with fast Garchomp pressure and strong support pieces, because this event’s top cut showed that core can be built several different ways.
