˗ˋˏ❤︎ˎˊ˗ Pomelo Cup Invitational results recap

The ˗ˋˏ❤︎ˎˊ˗ Pomelo Cup (Invitational) was played on 2026-10-04 on Limitless with 19 players in Pokemon Champions Regulation Set M-C. Sooner [US] won the event at 6-2-0, taking the final-round path through BigBoyWally, Kotori, and kazo.

Place Player Record Team
1 Sooner [US] 6-2-0 Charizard, Farigiraf, Incineroar, Sylveon, Aerodactyl, Garchomp
2 Kotori [JP] 6-2-0 Gengar, Altaria, Rillaboom, Incineroar, Hawlucha, Snorlax
3 BigBoyWally [US] 6-1-0 Eternal Flower Floette, Basculegion, Farigiraf, Kingambit, Rillaboom, Blaziken
4 Riosaki [US] 5-2-0 Rillaboom, Gengar, Archaludon, Politoed, Incineroar, Vivillon

Sooner’s winning team was built around Charizard with Charizardite Y, Blaze, Modest, and the attacking set of Heat Wave, Weather Ball, Solar Beam, and Protect. That gave the team a clear special attacking centerpiece, while the rest of the six covered speed control, disruption, and physical pressure. Aerodactyl carried Focus Sash with Tailwind, Rock Slide, Dual Wingbeat, and Protect, giving the team a fast mode. Farigiraf added Armor Tail, Sitrus Berry, Trick Room, Helping Hand, Twin Beam, and Protect, meaning Sooner was not locked into only playing fast.

The support core was very direct. Incineroar used Charcoal with Intimidate, Fake Out, Flare Blitz, Darkest Lariat, and Parting Shot, offering both positioning and damage. Sylveon with Fairy Feather and Pixilate supplied spread Fairy pressure through Hyper Voice, plus Hyper Beam, Quick Attack, and Detect. Garchomp rounded out the roster with Life Orb, Rough Skin, Dragon Claw, Earthquake, Stomping Tantrum, and Protect, giving the team a strong physical attacker that could pressure different board states than Charizard or Sylveon.

Across the top teams, Incineroar and Rillaboom remained major fixtures. Incineroar appeared on the teams of Sooner, Kotori, and Riosaki, each with Intimidate and Fake Out, while BigBoyWally’s top-four team skipped it. Rillaboom appeared on Kotori, BigBoyWally, and Riosaki, all with Grassy Surge, Grassy Glide, U-turn, and Fake Out represented across those sets.

Farigiraf was another notable piece, appearing on Sooner and BigBoyWally with Sitrus Berry, Armor Tail, Trick Room, Helping Hand, and Protect. Gengar also showed up twice in the top four, with Kotori and Riosaki both using Gengarite and Cursed Body. Perish Song was present on Kotori’s Altaria and Riosaki’s Gengar and Politoed, making it one of the more visible alternate win-condition tools near the top cut. Focus Sash also showed up on Sooner’s Aerodactyl and Riosaki’s Vivillon.

Takeaway for ladder players: flexible speed control backed by Fake Out, Intimidate, and strong spread damage was the clearest pattern from this event.
