BylanXx’s winning team was built around flexible speed control, spread pressure, and enough defensive utility to keep positioning clean. Sylveon with Fairy Feather, Pixilate, Modest, and Hyper Voice gave the team a direct spread attacker, with Hyper Beam and Quick Attack adding different damage profiles around Detect. Charizard with Charizardite Y brought a sun mode with Solar Beam, Heat Wave, Weather Ball, and Protect, while Hisuian Typhlosion used Choice Scarf with Heat Wave, Shadow Ball, Overheat, and Eruption to apply fast special pressure.
The support core tied the team together. Aerodactyl with Aerodactylite, Unnerve, Jolly, Rock Slide, Dual Wingbeat, Protect, and Tailwind supplied speed control and flinch pressure. Alolan Persian offered Fake Out, Icy Wind, Foul Play, and Parting Shot with Sitrus Berry and Fur Coat, giving BylanXx multiple ways to slow the game down or reset board states. Toxapex was the long-game piece: Leftovers, Regenerator, Baneful Bunker, Toxic, Wide Guard, and Infestation let it punish passive turns, block spread damage, and trap targets while the team’s stronger attackers created openings.
Across the top teams, Fire-type pressure was a major theme. Charizard, Hisuian Typhlosion, Houndoom, Torkoal, Blaziken, Pyroar, and later top-eight picks like Incineroar all appeared with Heat Wave or other Fire attacks. Sun was also present in both of the top two: BylanXx used Charizardite Y Charizard, while MewtwOficial [ES] paired Drought Torkoal with Chlorophyll Venusaur and Houndoominite Houndoom.
Psychic Terrain and Trick Room also showed strongly. Indeedee ♀ appeared on both MewtwOficial [ES] and Moonscorched [US], with Psychic Surge, Follow Me, Helping Hand, and Trick Room represented between those two teams. Moonscorched [US] expanded that direction further with Spiritomb also carrying Trick Room and Meowstic ♀ using Meowsticite and Expanding Force.
Repeated utility picks were clear beyond the top four as well. Rillaboom appeared on SeroSmurf [CL], HINOX, stag_2402 [IN], and eneko10 [ES], usually tied to Grassy Surge and Fake Out or Grassy Glide. Leftovers showed up on BylanXx’s Toxapex, SeroSmurf [CL]’s Aegislash, HINOX’s Hisuian Goodra, stag_2402 [IN]’s Wigglytuff, and eneko10 [ES]’s Toxapex. Focus Sash was another recurring item on Lycanroc Dusk, Blaziken, Espathra, and Whimsicott.
Takeaway for ladder players: prepare for layered speed control, Fire spread damage, and bulky support pieces like Toxapex and Indeedee ♀ rather than only covering the obvious Mega attackers.
