Holasoy’s winning team had a clear dual-speed structure. Farigiraf with Sitrus Berry, Armor Tail, Relaxed, and Trick Room gave the team a slower mode while also blocking priority pressure through Armor Tail. Its set of Trick Room, Psychic, Thunderbolt, and Sunny Day also meant it was not passive; Sunny Day supported Charizard’s Charizardite Y set with Heat Wave, Solar Beam, Weather Ball, and Protect.
The fast mode came from Aerodactyl with Aerodactylite, Unnerve, Jolly, Rock Slide, Dual Wingbeat, Tailwind, and Ice Fang. That gave Holasoy immediate speed control opposite Farigiraf’s Trick Room mode, letting the team choose between pushing tempo with Tailwind or reversing speed with Trick Room. Charizard provided spread Fire damage and sun-based coverage, while Garchomp brought Life Orb pressure with Dragon Claw, Earthquake, Stomping Tantrum, and Protect.
The rest of the composition rounded out the damage profile. Sylveon, holding Fairy Feather with Pixilate and Modest, used Hyper Beam, Hyper Voice, Quick Attack, and Detect, giving the team strong Fairy-type spread pressure and a powerful single-target option. Kingambit with Focus Sash, Defiant, Adamant, Kowtow Cleave, Sucker Punch, Iron Head, and Low Kick added priority, Steel coverage, and punishment into stat-lowering effects.
Across the top teams, several patterns were hard to miss. Sylveon appeared on all four of the top teams, and each used Fairy Feather, Pixilate, and Modest. Hyper Voice and Hyper Beam were also common across those Sylveon sets, reinforcing how central Pixilate damage was in this field.
Garchomp was another top-four staple, appearing on every team from first through fourth. Holasoy, Maxkelly, and LucasD2012 used Life Orb, while Rafax Nazario opted for Choice Scarf. Earthquake and Dragon Claw were common tools, showing that teams valued both spread damage and reliable Dragon-type offense.
Aerodactylite was also prominent, appearing on Holasoy, Maxkelly, and LucasD2012, with Tailwind present on each of those Aerodactyl sets. Charizardite Y showed up on the same three teams, pairing especially well with Solar Beam and broader sun support. Kingambit appeared on three of the top four teams as well, with Kowtow Cleave, Sucker Punch, Iron Head, and Low Kick repeated across those sets.
Takeaway for ladder players: build with a real plan into Sylveon, Garchomp, Aerodactylite Tailwind, and Charizardite Y sun cores, because they defined the top of this event.
