DJdrew’s first-place team had a clear fast-pressure structure. Charizard with Charizardite Y, Modest nature, and Protect, Heat Wave, Solar Beam, Weather Ball gave the team a central special attacker with strong spread damage and coverage. Whimsicott supplied the main speed control through Prankster Tailwind, while Focus Sash helped it stay relevant long enough to use Tailwind, Encore, Moonblast, or Protect.

Eternal Flower Floette was the other major special damage piece, using Floettite with Protect, Moonblast, Dazzling Gleam, and Light of Ruin. That gave DJdrew multiple ways to apply Fairy-type pressure, including both single-target and spread options. Garchomp added physical spread damage with Earthquake and Rock Slide, while Roseli Berry gave it a specific defensive item choice alongside Rough Skin and Jolly.

The back half of the team rounded out the usual doubles requirements. Incineroar had Sitrus Berry, Intimidate, Parting Shot, Flare Blitz, Throat Chop, and Fake Out, giving DJdrew disruption, pivoting, and positioning support. Basculegion was the late-game physical threat with Life Orb, Adaptability, Wave Crash, Last Respects, and Aqua Jet, giving the team priority and a strong cleanup angle.

Across the top cut, Gengarite was one of the clearest trends. Gengar appeared on teams in second, third, and fourth, each carrying Perish Song and Protect, with Shadow Ball and Sludge Bomb on the second- and third-place versions and Disable on LenVGC’s fourth-place version. Perish Song also appeared on Politoed and Altaria, making endgame control a major theme among the highest finishers.

Incineroar remained heavily represented as well, appearing on all of the top five teams and again in eighth. Its sets consistently leaned on Intimidate, Fake Out, Parting Shot, and either Flare Blitz or Throat Chop, with Sitrus Berry common but not universal. Focus Sash was another repeated item, showing up on Whimsicott, Vivillon, Kingambit, Sneasler, and Infernape across the top eight.

Rain-related pieces also had a strong showing, especially Politoed with Drizzle in second and fourth, Pelipper with Drizzle in sixth, and Blastoise with Blastoisinite in sixth. Sinistcha was another recurring support pick, appearing on teams from fourth, fifth, sixth, and eighth with Hospitality and Rage Powder.

Takeaway for ladder players: prepare for both fast Tailwind pressure and slower Perish Song positioning, because the best teams here respected both modes.
