Mattpode3’s undefeated team was built around layered speed control, defensive support, and strong rain-adjacent pressure. Pelipper held Sitrus Berry with Drizzle, giving the team Weather Ball, Hurricane, Tailwind, and Wide Guard from one slot. That combination made it both a proactive lead and a stabilizing support Pokemon, especially with Wide Guard covering spread-move pressure.
Archaludon was the clear long-game piece: Leftovers, Stamina, Calm, and a moveset of Electro Shot, Dragon Pulse, Flash Cannon, and Protect. With Grimmsnarl alongside it, the team could make Archaludon harder to remove while it kept attacking. Grimmsnarl’s Light Clay set of Foul Play, Light Screen, Reflect, and Parting Shot gave Mattpode3 a consistent way to reduce damage and reset positioning.
The offensive end was varied. Choice Scarf Basculegion with Adaptability brought Wave Crash, Flip Turn, Last Respects, and Aqua Jet, giving the team immediate speed and priority. Venusaur used Venusaurite with Giga Drain, Sludge Bomb, Earth Power, and Protect, adding a Mega option that could pressure common Water-, Fairy-, and Steel-adjacent targets listed across the top teams. Aegislash rounded things out with Focus Sash, Stance Change, Iron Head, Shadow Sneak, Close Combat, and King's Shield, offering priority, defensive utility, and a way to trade effectively.
Across the top cut, Basculegion stood out by appearing on both first and second place teams, though Mattpode3 used Choice Scarf while SuperDialga used Mystic Water.
