XChunkzx102’s winning team used a flexible offensive core with several ways to apply immediate pressure. Rillaboom with Miracle Seed, Grassy Surge, Wood Hammer, Grassy Glide, High Horsepower, and Fake Out gave the team priority pressure and board control from turn one. Sneasler added a second Fake Out user, with White Herb, Unburden, Close Combat, Dire Claw, Quick Guard, and a Jolly nature giving it both disruption and fast damage.
The Mega choices were also central. Dragonite held Dragoninite with Multiscale and ran Dragon Pulse, Heat Wave, Tailwind, and Protect, giving the team speed control without giving up spread coverage. Delphox with Delphoxite, Blaze, Heat Wave, Psychic, Nasty Plot, and Protect offered another special attacker that could threaten setup while still contributing immediate damage. Kingambit with Life Orb, Defiant, Kowtow Cleave, Sucker Punch, Low Kick, and Protect supplied late-game priority and punished stat drops. Basculegion rounded out the roster with Focus Sash, Adaptability, Liquidation, Last Respects, Aqua Jet, and Protect, making it another priority user with strong endgame potential.
Across the top teams, several patterns stood out. Basculegion appeared on both finalist rosters and on Felix F’s fourth-place team, though the sets differed: XChunkzx102 used Focus Sash with Adaptability, Whimsey used Basculegion ♀ with Focus Sash and Swift Swim, and Felix F used Life Orb with Swift Swim. Sneasler was also prominent, appearing on the first- and second-place teams, while Rillaboom showed up for both XChunkzx102 and Altkyle.
Rain elements were concentrated near the top as well. Whimsey paired Pelipper with Damp Rock and Rain Dish alongside Archaludon and Basculegion ♀, while Felix F used Pelipper with Choice Scarf and Drizzle alongside Archaludon and Basculegion. Both Archaludon sets used Leftovers, Stamina, Electro Shot, Snarl, Dragon Pulse, and Protect, showing a clear shared structure between the second- and fourth-place teams.
Fake Out was another major thread. XChunkzx102 had it on both Rillaboom and Sneasler, Whimsey used it on Raichu, Altkyle had it on Rillaboom, and Felix F did not lean on it in the listed moves. Priority attacks were widespread too, including Grassy Glide, Sucker Punch, Aqua Jet, Extreme Speed, and Quick Attack across the top eight standings.
Takeaway for ladder players: build with clear speed control, priority pressure, and flexible Fake Out positioning, because the top teams repeatedly converted those tools into strong finishes.
