Kanon’s winning team is built around flexible speed control and immediate offensive pressure. Whimsicott gives the team Prankster Tailwind while also carrying Sunny Day, which pairs cleanly with Pyroar’s Heat Wave, Overheat, and Solar Beam. Focus Sash and Protect make Whimsicott a reliable enabler rather than a one-turn support piece.
The damage core is varied. Basculegion with Life Orb, Adaptability, Aqua Jet, Last Respects, and Wave Crash gives the team strong Water pressure and priority. Garchomp runs Garchompite Z with Rough Skin and a special set of Earth Power, Dragon Pulse, and Power Gem, giving Kanon a different angle from the more common physical expectations around Garchomp. Rillaboom supplies Grassy Surge, Fake Out, Grassy Glide, and Wood Hammer with Miracle Seed, adding priority damage and terrain control. Gallade’s White Herb and Sharpness set contributes Wide Guard support alongside Psycho Cut and Sacred Sword, while Pyroar provides the Fire-type special offense.
Across the top standings, Rillaboom was one of the clearest trends. It appeared on the 1st, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th place teams, and Miracle Seed was used on several of those builds. Incineroar was also heavily represented, appearing on the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 6th place teams, usually bringing Intimidate and Fake Out utility.
Garchomp was another major top-table pick, appearing on the 1st, 2nd, and 5th place teams, each with Garchompite Z and Rough Skin. Trick Room modes were also common: Farigiraf, Hatterene, Indeedee ♀, Gardevoir, and Camerupt teams all showed that slower structures were still well represented alongside Tailwind teams. Sylveon appeared in both 2nd and 3rd with Fairy Feather, Pixilate, Modest, Hyper Voice, Quick Attack, and Detect, while Sneasler appeared in 3rd, 5th, and 6th with Unburden sets.
Takeaway for ladder players: prepare for Rillaboom plus Fake Out cores, and make sure your team has a real plan into both Tailwind and Trick Room.
