FireRed and LeafGreen Add Pokémon HOME Connectivity
Pokémon.com has announced that Pokémon FireRed Version and Pokémon LeafGreen Version can now connect with Pokémon HOME. For competitive players, the key takeaway is simple: another pair of older mainline titles is being tied into the modern storage ecosystem.
That matters mostly for long-term collection access. HOME support can make it easier to preserve older captures, organize legacy boxes, and potentially keep rare origin marks or game histories attached to Pokémon as they move through supported services. It does not, by itself, confirm anything about Pokémon Champions legality, transfer rules, or ranked formats.
For Pokémon Champions players, this is worth watching but not overreading. Champions is its own 2026 doubles title with its own battle systems and legality structure, so HOME connectivity for FireRed and LeafGreen should be treated as infrastructure news until official Champions-specific details say otherwise.
If you maintain a living dex or care about older-game provenance, this is a useful update. If you are only tracking the competitive ladder, there is no confirmed metagame impact yet.
