Zaphkiel03’s winning team had several clear modes without being locked into one speed plan. Aerodactyl with Aerodactylite brought Tailwind, Rock Slide, Dual Wingbeat, and Protect, giving the team a fast positioning option. Farigiraf added the opposite axis with Trick Room, plus Armor Tail, Helping Hand, Expanding Force, and Thunderbolt. That combination let the team choose between pushing tempo with Tailwind or slowing the game down when needed.
The damage core was broad. Charizard with Charizardite Y carried Protect, Heat Wave, Weather Ball, and Solar Beam, while Primarina used Life Orb with Liquid Voice, Hyper Voice, Moonblast, Energy Ball, and Protect. Garchomp used Choice Scarf with Rough Skin and an Adamant nature, giving access to Earthquake, Stomping Tantrum, Rock Slide, and Dragon Claw. Kingambit rounded out the lineup with Focus Sash, Defiant, Adamant, and a direct attacking set of Kowtow Cleave, Iron Head, Sucker Punch, and Low Kick. Between Sucker Punch, Choice Scarf Garchomp, Aerodactyl’s Tailwind, and Farigiraf’s Trick Room, the team covered multiple speed states while keeping pressure high.
Across the top cut, several patterns stood out. Kingambit with Focus Sash appeared on both the winning team and Pichu’s third-place team, and Ewokpadawan also used Focus Sash Kingambit in eighth. Garchomp was another repeated pick, showing up on Zaphkiel03, Pichu, LexMoon03, and Drosek2, though with different item choices including Choice Scarf and Garchompite Z.
Rillaboom was one of the most common support attackers in the upper standings. Sebas210, Pichu, LexMoon03, Drosek2, and Kirbygambit all used Miracle Seed Rillaboom with Grassy Surge and Fake Out. Raichu with Raichunite Y was also heavily represented, appearing on Sebas210, LexMoon03, Drosek2, Kirbygambit, and Ewokpadawan, usually alongside Fake Out, Zap Cannon, Focus Blast, and Protect.
Gholdengo with Life Orb was a major special attacker trend among the high finishers, appearing on Sebas210, LexMoon03, Drosek2, and Kirbygambit with Make It Rain, Shadow Ball, Nasty Plot, and Protect across those teams. Farigiraf also remained relevant as a Trick Room and support piece, appearing on the first, fourth, and eighth-place teams.
Takeaway for ladder players: prepare for flexible speed control, especially Tailwind plus Trick Room structures, and do not ignore the repeated Rillaboom, Raichu, Gholdengo, Kingambit, and Garchomp cores.
