Place Player Record Team
1 ZayGM 10-0-0 Salamence, Sneasler, Rillaboom, Tyranitar, Gholdengo, Excadrill
2 MonkeyT 8-2-0 Salamence, Sneasler, Kingambit, Hisuian Arcanine, Gallade, Rillaboom
3 kazo [AU] 6-3-0 Indeedee, Sneasler, Gholdengo, Raichu, Sylveon, Staraptor
4 Chairman R [IT] 6-3-0 Farigiraf, Golisopod, Venusaur, Charizard, Politoed, Archaludon

ZayGM’s winning team used a clean blend of speed control, terrain pressure, and sand offense. Salamence with Salamencite, Intimidate, Draco Meteor, Hyper Voice, Tailwind, and Protect gave the team an immediate Mega focal point and a flexible speed-control option. Tailwind supported both the faster attackers and the bulkier physical core, while Intimidate helped create safer turns for setup or positioning.

The second major engine was the Tyranitar plus Excadrill pairing. Tyranitar carried Tyranitarite with Sand Stream, Rock Slide, Knock Off, Fire Punch, and Protect, while Excadrill used Focus Sash, Sand Rush, High Horsepower, Rock Slide, Iron Head, and Protect. That combination gave ZayGM a dedicated sand mode that could threaten spread Rock Slide pressure and fast Ground- and Steel-type coverage when sand was active.

The supporting pieces rounded out the team’s tempo well. Sneasler used White Herb and Unburden with Fake Out, Dire Claw, Close Combat, and Protect, giving the team disruptive opening turns and immediate offensive reach. Rillaboom brought Miracle Seed, Grassy Surge, Fake Out, Grassy Glide, Wood Hammer, and High Horsepower, adding priority pressure and another Fake Out user. Gholdengo with Life Orb, Good as Gold, Make It Rain, Shadow Ball, Protect, and Nasty Plot provided a special attacking route that punished passive positions and offered a different angle from the sand attackers.

Across the top teams, Sneasler was one of the clearest trends. It appeared on the first three teams and also showed up on several other high finishes, with White Herb, Grassy Seed, Psychic Seed, and Focus Sash all represented. Rillaboom was similarly common, usually tied to Fake Out and Grassy Glide, with Miracle Seed appearing repeatedly among top-eight teams.

Salamence also had a strong showing, appearing on both first and second place with Salamencite, Intimidate, Hyper Voice, Tailwind, and Protect. Gholdengo appeared on first and third place with Life Orb, Good as Gold, Make It Rain, Shadow Ball, Nasty Plot, and Protect. The broader top cut showed several weather or field-based modes as well, including sand from ZayGM, sun with Charizard and Venusaur on Chairman R [IT], and Psychic Terrain from kazo [AU]’s Indeedee.

Takeaway for ladder players: prepare for Fake Out-heavy offense built around Sneasler and Rillaboom, but do not ignore dedicated speed-control cores like Salamence Tailwind and Tyranitar plus Excadrill sand.
