Rusticolus’ winning team leaned into immediate pressure, layered priority, and targeted disruption. Froslass with Froslassite supplied Blizzard, Shadow Ball, and Taunt, giving the team a way to contest setup or slower positioning plans while still threatening damage. Sneasler was the familiar White Herb / Unburden attacker, pairing Fake Out with Close Combat and Poison Jab. That gave Rusticolus a strong lead option that could force early defensive turns.
The back half of the team carried several ways to close games. Basculegion used Mystic Water and Adaptability with Wave Crash, Last Respects, and Aqua Jet, making it both a direct damage source and a late-game threat. Kingambit followed the same practical pattern: Black Glasses, Defiant, Kowtow Cleave, Sucker Punch, Swords Dance, and Protect. Between Aqua Jet, Sucker Punch, and Lycanroc Dusk’s Accelerock, the team had multiple priority options to finish weakened targets without needing to win every Speed interaction.
The two less common pieces gave the composition its distinct look. Lycanroc Dusk held Focus Sash and brought Rock Slide, Close Combat, Accelerock, and Protect, adding another physical attacker with immediate board presence. Scovillain with Scovillainite, Moody, Rage Powder, Overheat, Giga Drain, and Protect offered redirection while also threatening damage. That combination made Rusticolus’ six more than just a pile of attackers: it had Fake Out, Taunt, Rage Powder, priority, and setup pressure all in one build.
Across the top standings, Kingambit was the defining pick. Every listed top-eight team used Kingambit, always with Defiant and Sucker Punch, though items varied between Black Glasses, Chople Berry, Life Orb, and Focus Sash.
