merrypasta’s winning team leaned into flexible tempo control rather than a single linear mode. Gardevoir with Gardevoirite, Trace, Hyper Voice, Psyshock, Protect, and Trick Room gave the team a Mega option that could attack spread damage while also flipping speed control when needed. Alongside it, Blaziken with Blazikenite, Speed Boost, Flare Blitz, Close Combat, Detect, and Rock Slide offered a second Mega threat with immediate physical pressure.
The rest of the six supported that dual-Mega pressure with priority, disruption, and positioning tools. Kangaskhan carried Expert Belt with Scrappy, Fake Out, Sucker Punch, Double-Edge, and Drain Punch, giving the team a practical way to control early turns and pick off weakened targets. Aegislash used Life Orb with Poltergeist, Iron Head, King's Shield, and Shadow Sneak, adding another priority option and a strong defensive pivot through Stance Change. Tsareena’s Queenly Majesty, Helping Hand, and strong coverage in Power Whip, Triple Axel, and High Jump Kick made it a notable support-attacker hybrid. Aerodactyl rounded out the composition with Focus Sash, Unnerve, Tailwind, Rock Slide, Dual Wingbeat, and Protect, giving the team a fast speed-control option outside of Trick Room.
Across the top cut of the standings, Venusaur was one of the clearest trends. Lord_Jay, PokeReplay, Nocturne_Nugget, and Gabeeel all used Venusaurite Venusaur, with Giga Drain, Sludge Bomb, Earth Power, and Protect appearing together on multiple lists. Aegislash was similarly prominent, appearing on merrypasta, PokeReplay, Nocturne_Nugget, Gabeeel, and SizzleSnom, with King's Shield consistently present and builds ranging from Life Orb to Occa Berry, Leftovers, and Kasib Berry.
Redirection and bulky support also showed up repeatedly. Clefable appeared on PokeReplay, Nocturne_Nugget, Gabeeel, and SizzleSnom, often with Follow Me, Life Dew, Moonblast, and Protect. Wash Rotom was another frequent glue pick among Lord_Jay, Nocturne_Nugget, Gabeeel, and AndruApple, usually combining Hydro Pump and Thunderbolt with utility such as Will-O-Wisp, Light Screen, Electroweb, Volt Switch, or Helping Hand. Speed control was well represented too, with Tailwind on Aerodactyl and Talonflame, Choice Scarf on Annihilape, Meowscarada, and Wash Rotom, plus Trick Room on merrypasta’s Gardevoir.
Takeaway for ladder players: build with more than one speed plan, because the best teams here paired fast pressure with defensive pivots, priority, or Trick Room counterplay.
