Sooner’s winning team was built around immediate speed pressure, strong priority, and multiple hard-hitting physical attackers alongside Eternal Flower Floette. The lead flexibility starts with Whimsicott, using Focus Sash, Prankster, and a Timid nature with Tailwind, Moonblast, Encore, and Protect. That gives the team a reliable way to control the pace while still punishing passive positioning with Encore.
Eternal Flower Floette was the featured special attacker, carrying Floettite, Flower Veil, and a Modest nature with Moonblast, Dazzling Gleam, Light of Ruin, and Protect. It gave Sooner both single-target and spread Fairy pressure, while Protect kept it functional in the faster, Tailwind-driven turns the team clearly wanted to create.
The physical core was especially direct. Hisuian Arcanine used Life Orb, Rock Head, and a Jolly nature with Head Smash, Flare Blitz, Extreme Speed, and Protect. Basculegion added a Choice Scarf Adaptability set with Wave Crash, Last Respects, Aqua Jet, and Flip Turn. Kingambit brought Black Glasses, Defiant, and an Adamant nature with Kowtow Cleave, Sucker Punch, Iron Head, and Protect. Dragonite rounded out the team with Dragon Fang, Inner Focus, and an Adamant nature, running Dragon Claw, Protect, Extreme Speed, and Low Kick. Between Basculegion’s Choice Scarf, Whimsicott’s Tailwind, and priority from Extreme Speed, Aqua Jet, and Sucker Punch, Sooner had several ways to move first without relying on only one speed-control mode.
Across the top tables, Whimsicott was the clearest trend. All of the top four teams used Whimsicott, and each had Prankster and Tailwind. Focus Sash Whimsicott appeared on Sooner, Jin-Hao Jiang, and notwinning, while Gmaddox used Occa Berry with Moonblast, Tailwind, Charm, and Light Screen.
Eternal Flower Floette also had a major presence, appearing on three of the top four teams: Sooner, Jin-Hao Jiang, and notwinning. All three used Floettite, Flower Veil, a Modest nature, Moonblast, and Protect. Kingambit was similarly common, appearing on Sooner, Gmaddox, and notwinning, with Defiant on all three sets and Sucker Punch plus Kowtow Cleave appearing throughout.
Other repeated pieces shaped the field as well. Garchomp appeared on the second-, third-, and fourth-place teams. Charizard with Charizardite Y appeared on Jin-Hao Jiang and notwinning. Basculegion was used by both 7-1-0 finishers, though Sooner chose Choice Scarf while Jin-Hao Jiang used Mystic Water.
Takeaway for ladder players: Prankster Tailwind Whimsicott plus immediate offensive pressure was the defining top-four structure here.
