Hatterene Series W34/2026 M-B results recap

Hatterene Series W34/2026 - 7pm EDT - M-B was a 14-player online tournament on Limitless, played on 2026-08-19 under Pokemon Champions Regulation Set M-B. MeganVGC finished first at 6-0-0, closing the event with listed final-round wins over punihina and izzywooperstan, while punihina’s run included a win over vennythekid.

Place Player Record Team
1 MeganVGC [US] 6-0-0 Glimmora / Staraptor / Hydreigon / Gholdengo / Milotic / Whimsicott
2 Punihina [MX] 4-2-0 Charizard / Garchomp / Farigiraf / Mawile / Basculegion / Whimsicott
3 vennythekid [US] 3-2-0 Whimsicott / Garchomp / Eternal Flower Floette / Basculegion / Kingambit / Charizard
4 Izzywooperstan [US] 2-3-0 Charizard / Whimsicott / Basculegion / Mawile / Farigiraf / Garchomp

MeganVGC’s winning team stood apart from the rest of the top cut by not using the common Charizard / Garchomp / Basculegion structure. The core instead combined Glimmora, Staraptor, Hydreigon, Gholdengo, Milotic, and Whimsicott, giving the team several direct ways to apply pressure while still having defensive utility.

Glimmora carried Glimmoranite with Toxic Debris and a Modest set of Sludge Bomb, Power Gem, Earth Power, and Spiky Shield. That gave MeganVGC a lead-capable attacker with coverage and protection. Staraptor used Staraptite with Intimidate, Adamant Brave Bird, Close Combat, Roost, and Protect, adding immediate physical pressure plus Intimidate support. Hydreigon held Life Orb with Levitate and attacked through Dragon Pulse, Dark Pulse, and Earth Power alongside Protect.

The special attacking side was rounded out by Gholdengo with Wise Glasses, Good as Gold, Timid Flash Cannon, Shadow Ball, Nasty Plot, and Protect. Milotic brought Leftovers, Competitive, Bold Scald, Ice Beam, Recover, and Protect, giving the team a durable piece that could stay on the field. Whimsicott was the speed-control glue: Focus Sash, Prankster, Timid Moonblast, Tailwind, Encore, and Protect. Across the team, MeganVGC had Tailwind, Intimidate, recovery from Roost and Recover, setup through Nasty Plot, and multiple Protect users.

The clearest trend across the top four was Whimsicott. All four teams used it, and all four listed Focus Sash, Prankster, Timid, Moonblast, Encore, Protect, and Tailwind in some order. That made Focus Sash Whimsicott the defining support pick of the top standings.

The runner-up through fourth-place teams also shared a major offensive shell. Charizard with Charizardite Y appeared on punihina, vennythekid, and Izzywooperstan, and each Charizard carried Heat Wave, Weather Ball, Solar Beam, and Protect. Garchomp also appeared on those same three teams with Earthquake, Dragon Claw, Rock Slide, and Protect. Basculegion was another repeated pick, using Adaptability with Wave Crash, Aqua Jet, Last Respects, and Protect on all three of those teams, though the item varied between Mystic Water and Life Orb.

Farigiraf and Mawile were also important supporting pieces for punihina and Izzywooperstan. Both Farigiraf sets had Armor Tail and Trick Room, while both Mawile sets used Mawilite, Hyper Cutter, Play Rough, Rock Slide, Sucker Punch, and Protect.

Takeaway for ladder players: prepare for Focus Sash Whimsicott speed control first, then make sure your team has a plan into Charizard, Garchomp, and Basculegion cores.
