UraniumVGC’s winning team used a clear fast-paced structure built around Whimsicott, Basculegion, Charizard, Garchomp, Kingambit, and Eternal Flower Floette. Whimsicott carried Focus Sash with Prankster, Tailwind, Encore, Moonblast, and Protect, giving the team immediate speed control and a way to punish setup or passive turns. That enabled several heavy attackers to operate on their preferred terms.
Basculegion was Mystic Water with Adaptability and an Adamant nature, using Wave Crash, Last Respects, Aqua Jet, and Protect. The set gave the team strong Water pressure, priority, and a late-game scaling option. Charizard with Charizardite Y, Blaze, and a Modest nature added Heat Wave, Solar Beam, Weather Ball, and Protect, creating another spread-damage lane while also threatening Water- and Ground-related matchups through Solar Beam and Weather Ball.
The physical core was rounded out by Life Orb Garchomp and Chople Berry Kingambit. Garchomp’s Protect, Stomping Tantrum, Dragon Claw, and Rock Slide offered flexible single-target and spread pressure, while Kingambit’s Defiant, Kowtow Cleave, Low Kick, Sucker Punch, and Iron Head gave the team priority and a strong answer into Intimidate-heavy play. Eternal Flower Floette with Floettite, Flower Veil, Dazzling Gleam, Moonblast, Light of Ruin, and Protect supplied another special attacker and Fairy-type damage source.
The most obvious trend near the top was the repeated Whimsicott offense shell. UraniumVGC, Sela133VII [DE], Woid [IT], and ZipVGC all used Whimsicott with Focus Sash and Prankster, with Tailwind and Encore appearing on each of those sets. Eternal Flower Floette with Floettite was also common, appearing on the first, second, third, fifth, and sixth-place teams, though the move choices ranged from immediate attacking sets with Light of Ruin to Calm Mind and Draining Kiss variants.
Kingambit was another major fixture. The top three teams all used Kingambit, and both UraniumVGC and Sela133VII [DE] paired Chople Berry, Defiant, Adamant, Kowtow Cleave, Sucker Punch, Iron Head, and Low Kick. Basculegion also appeared repeatedly in different item slots, including Mystic Water, Life Orb, Choice Scarf, and Adaptability on every listed Basculegion set. Charizard with Charizardite Y showed up on multiple high finishes as well, most often with Heat Wave, Weather Ball, and Protect.
Takeaway for ladder players: prepare for Focus Sash Whimsicott speed control, Floettite Eternal Flower Floette, and Adaptability Basculegion before queuing Regulation Set M-B games.
