| Place | Player | Record | Team |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Bebzun [PL] | 7-1-1 | Garchomp, Basculegion, Raichu, Froslass, Sneasler, Whimsicott |
| 2 | alpha76 | 6-2-1 | Garchomp, Kingambit, Basculegion, Whimsicott, Charizard, Eternal Flower Floette |
| 3 | Jhinting [DE] | 6-2-0 | Raichu, Kingambit, Hisuian Arcanine, Staraptor, Farigiraf, Sylveon |
| 4 | Forblaze | 6-2-0 | Charizard, Venusaur, Archaludon, Pelipper, Swampert, Basculegion |
Bebzun’s winning team was a fast, pressure-heavy composition with multiple ways to control tempo. Whimsicott brought Focus Sash, Prankster, Tailwind, Encore, Moonblast, and Protect, giving the team a clear speed-control anchor. Raichu with Raichunite Y, Lightning Rod, Fake Out, Protect, Zap Cannon, and Focus Blast added disruption and electric redirection support, while Sneasler supplied a second Fake Out user with White Herb, Unburden, Close Combat, Dire Claw, and Protect.
The damage plan was straightforward but flexible. Garchomp used Life Orb with Rough Skin and a Jolly nature, carrying Earthquake, Dragon Claw, Protect, and Rock Slide for reliable spread and single-target pressure. Basculegion held Choice Scarf with Adaptability and an Adamant nature, using Aqua Jet, Wave Crash, Flip Turn, and Last Respects, giving Bebzun immediate Water-type offense plus late-game closing power. Froslass rounded out the six with Froslassite, Cursed Body, Blizzard, Aurora Veil, Shadow Ball, and Protect, adding another speed-oriented attacker with team-wide defensive utility through Aurora Veil.
Across the top teams, several patterns stood out. Basculegion appeared on three of the top four teams, with Bebzun and Forblaze using Choice Scarf while alpha76 used Mystic Water. Garchomp also appeared on both finalist teams, each with Life Orb, Rough Skin, Jolly, Earthquake, Rock Slide, Dragon Claw, and Protect in slightly different move order. Whimsicott was another major piece, showing up on Bebzun, alpha76, DiamondsaurVGC [US], and VengeanceAndo [FR], most often as a Prankster Tailwind and Encore support Pokemon.
Charizard with Charizardite Y was one of the clearest top-eight trends, appearing on alpha76, Forblaze, PokeReplay [GB], PokeHugo [ES], and VengeanceAndo [FR]. Those teams consistently paired it with Heat Wave, Weather Ball, Solar Beam, and Protect or near-identical coverage. Kingambit was also common near the top, appearing on alpha76, Jhinting [DE], DiamondsaurVGC [US], and VengeanceAndo [FR], usually with Defiant, Adamant, Kowtow Cleave, Sucker Punch, and Steel-type coverage through Iron Head.
The top cut also showed a strong preference for Focus Sash support or offense, including Whimsicott, Hisuian Arcanine, Glimmora, and Excadrill, while Life Orb remained a key damage item on Pokemon such as Garchomp, Kingambit, Venusaur, Dragapult, Sylveon, and Kommo-o.
Takeaway for ladder players: prepare for fast Tailwind teams built around Basculegion, Garchomp, Charizardite Y, and disruptive Fake Out support.
