pacho2003’s winning team was built around flexible weather pressure with a strong defensive backbone. Pelipper provided Drizzle, Tailwind, Wide Guard, Hurricane, and Weather Ball while holding Sitrus Berry, giving the team speed control and protection against spread damage. Swampert with Swampertite was the main physical attacker, carrying Protect, Earthquake, Ice Punch, and Wave Crash with an Adamant nature.
The second offensive lane came from Charizard and Venusaur. Charizard held Charizardite Y and used Solar Beam, Heat Wave, Protect, and Weather Ball, while Venusaur used Focus Sash, Chlorophyll, Sleep Powder, Earth Power, Sludge Bomb, and Protect. That pairing gave pacho2003 another way to pressure common defensive positions while also threatening disruption through Sleep Powder.
Grimmsnarl and Archaludon rounded out the structure. Grimmsnarl’s Light Clay, Prankster, Reflect, Light Screen, Parting Shot, and Play Rough gave the team a clear durability plan. Archaludon with Leftovers, Stamina, Dragon Pulse, Electro Shot, Flash Cannon, and Protect offered a slower but persistent attacker that benefited from the team’s support and could stay on the field for extended trades.
The strongest trend at the top was the repeated Pelipper, Swampert, Grimmsnarl, and Archaludon core. Both pacho2003 and AstroCatVGC used all four, with the same major items on Pelipper, Grimmsnarl, and Archaludon: Sitrus Berry, Light Clay, and Leftovers. Tamma also used Pelipper, Grimmsnarl, and Archaludon, along with the same Charizard and Venusaur pairing seen on the winning team.
Charizard appeared in three of the top five teams, all with Charizardite Y, Blaze, Modest, Heat Wave, Weather Ball, and Protect. Venusaur appeared on both pacho2003 and Tamma with Focus Sash, Chlorophyll, Modest, Sludge Bomb, Earth Power, Sleep Powder, and Protect. Basculegion was also present on Tamma, XENA, and MegaHappy_Dragonite, while Kingambit and Garchomp showed up repeatedly across the rest of the top eight.
Takeaway for ladder players: prepare for Pelipper-supported Swampert and Archaludon structures, especially when backed by Light Clay Grimmsnarl screens.
