masajji’s winning team was built around flexible speed control and layered defensive utility. Pelipper supplied Drizzle, Tailwind, Wide Guard, Weather Ball, and Hurricane while holding Focus Sash, giving the team both weather control and a fast mode. Farigiraf added Armor Tail, Trick Room, Protect, Psychic, and Thunderbolt with Sitrus Berry, letting masajji pivot into a slower mode when needed.
The rain core was backed by several direct attackers. Swampert used Swampertite with Earthquake, Knock Off, Wave Crash, and Protect, while Araquanid carried Mystic Water and Water Bubble with Liquidation, Infestation, Protect, and Wide Guard. Archaludon rounded out that side of the team with Leftovers, Stamina, Protect, Electro Shot, Dragon Pulse, and Flash Cannon. Sylveon gave the composition a Pixilate Fairy attacker with Fairy Feather, Hyper Voice, Hyper Beam, Yawn, and Detect. The result was a team that could pressure through Water damage, set either Tailwind or Trick Room, and protect key turns with double Wide Guard access from Araquanid and Pelipper.
Across the top teams, Sylveon was one of the clearest standouts. The top three all used Sylveon with Fairy Feather, Pixilate, and Modest, and all three included Hyper Voice, Hyper Beam, and Detect. Kingambit was also heavily represented, appearing on the second, third, fourth, sixth, seventh, and eighth-place teams with Defiant and Sucker Punch. Basculegion appeared repeatedly as well, showing up on blcde, Duxlemon, Zach K, joethefenix, and MemesNDreams, usually with Adaptability, Wave Crash, Last Respects, Aqua Jet, and Protect or another fourth move.
Speed control was everywhere. Tailwind appeared on Pelipper, Staraptor, Aerodactyl, Whimsicott, and other top teams, while Farigiraf gave both first and second place access to Trick Room. Focus Sash was another common item, used on Pelipper, Hisuian Arcanine, Sneasler, Whimsicott, Venusaur, Lycanroc Dusk, and other picks in the top eight. Weather also remained relevant: masajji and ChefRich22 both used Pelipper with Drizzle, while Duxlemon, ChefRich22, and MemesNDreams all brought Charizard with Charizardite Y.
Takeaway for ladder players: build with a clear speed-control plan, but make sure the team still functions when the opponent forces you into the opposite mode.
