lucardrgs’ winning team was built around layered damage support and flexible speed control. Staraptor with Staraptite, Intimidate, Adamant, Close Combat, Brave Bird, Roost, and Protect gave the team immediate physical pressure while still offering defensive value through Intimidate and Roost. Charizard with Charizardite Y, Blaze, Modest, Heat Wave, Weather Ball, Solar Beam, and Protect provided the main spread special threat and strong weather-based coverage.
The support core was especially important. Farigiraf carried Sitrus Berry with Armor Tail, Bold, Psychic, Thunderbolt, Helping Hand, and Trick Room, giving lucardrgs a way to play both into faster teams and through priority-heavy positions. Grimmsnarl used Light Clay, Prankster, Careful, Reflect, Light Screen, Parting Shot, and Scary Face, stacking screens with tempo control and stat pressure. That combination made it easier for the team’s attackers to stay on the field long enough to trade efficiently.
Basculegion and Sylveon rounded out the offense. Basculegion’s Mystic Water, Adaptability, Adamant, Wave Crash, Last Respects, Aqua Jet, and Protect gave the team strong Water-type damage plus priority. Sylveon with Fairy Feather, Pixilate, Modest, Hyper Beam, Hyper Voice, Baby-Doll Eyes, and Detect added another spread-damage angle and a Fairy-type nuke option. Overall, the composition could slow games down with Reflect, Light Screen, Parting Shot, Scary Face, and Trick Room, then convert those turns into heavy spread and single-target damage.
Across the upper standings, Staraptor was one of the clearest trends. It appeared on the teams of lucardrgs, Lawrash, SrRoxasKun, and T-FG | Guicortez14, always with Staraptite and Intimidate. Grimmsnarl with Light Clay and Prankster also showed up multiple times, including on lucardrgs, SrRoxasKun, and T-FG | Guicortez14, suggesting screens remained a reliable way to support high-damage cores.
Weather was another recurring theme. lucardrgs used Charizard with Weather Ball and Solar Beam, Tonini brought Politoed with Drizzle, SrRoxasKun used Pelipper with Drizzle, Juoni had Torkoal with Drought, and NMR | Wilson Gorski brought Tyranitar with Sand Stream. Garchomp was also a repeated physical attacker, appearing on Lawrash, Tonini, and Juoni with Life Orb, Rough Skin, and Jolly.
Takeaway for ladder players: screens plus flexible speed control remained a strong shell for enabling aggressive attackers in Regulation Set M-B.
