frankina’s winning team combined fast pressure, layered speed control, and several ways to punish positioning mistakes. Staraptor with Staraptite, Intimidate, Jolly, Protect, Roost, Close Combat, and Brave Bird gave the team immediate physical presence while still carrying recovery and Protect. Garchomp held Life Orb with Rough Skin and a Jolly nature, using Protect, Rock Slide, Earthquake, and Dragon Claw to threaten spread damage and consistent neutral attacks.
Whimsicott was the main support piece, running Occa Berry, Prankster, Timid, Moonblast, Tailwind, Charm, and Light Screen. Tailwind supported the team’s aggressive mode, while Charm and Light Screen helped frankina manage opposing damage output. Delphox with Delphoxite, Magician, Timid, Protect, Psychic, Heat Wave, and Substitute added a special attacking angle and a way to pressure both targets with Heat Wave. Glimmora brought Focus Sash and Toxic Debris with Spiky Shield, Earth Power, Power Gem, and Sludge Bomb, giving the composition a durable lead option despite its offensive nature. Kingambit rounded out the team with Chople Berry, Defiant, Adamant, Kowtow Cleave, Iron Head, Sucker Punch, and Low Kick, providing priority and a strong answer into Intimidate-heavy games.
Across the top teams, Kingambit was the clearest shared pick. It appeared on each of the top four teams, though with different items: Chople Berry for frankina, Expert Belt for rwzuWu, Black Glasses for Ignaa, and Life Orb for gagartoo. Defiant was consistent across those Kingambit sets, reinforcing its value in a field where Intimidate users like Staraptor and Incineroar were also present.
Delphox was another major trend, appearing on frankina and Ignaa in the top three, with additional appearances just outside the top four. Staraptor also showed up on both frankina and gagartoo, each with Staraptite and Intimidate but different move choices. Farigiraf and Sylveon were shared by rwzuWu and gagartoo, giving both teams Trick Room support through Farigiraf and Pixilate Hyper Voice pressure through Sylveon.
Item trends were just as visible. Life Orb appeared on Garchomp, Sylveon, and Kingambit among the top four, while Sitrus Berry appeared on Farigiraf. Focus Sash was used on Glimmora and Hisuian Arcanine, supporting frailer offensive or disruptive roles.
Takeaway for ladder players: build with a clear plan for Kingambit, because the top tables showed it can fit multiple structures and item choices.
