PokéFolk Champions Battle Night #2 results recap

PokéFolk Champions Battle Night #2 was a 20-player online event on Limitless, played on 2026-07-30 under Pokemon Champions Regulation Set M-B. Pizzamemes finished first at 6-1-0, closing the event with reported final-round wins over naovi and naio, while naovi also defeated lawrencevgc in the final round matches.

Place Player Record Team
1 Pizzamemes 6-1-0 Farigiraf, Blaziken, Basculegion, Venusaur, Kingambit, Alolan Ninetales
2 Naovi [ES] 5-2-0 Froslass, Kingambit, Sneasler, Hydreigon, Whimsicott, Hisuian Arcanine
3 LawrenceVGC [PH] 4-2-0 Kommo-o, Charizard, Glimmora, Kingambit, Alolan Ninetales, Whimsicott
4 Naio [ES] 4-2-0 Charizard, Whimsicott, Garchomp, Incineroar, Farigiraf, Mawile

Pizzamemes’ winning team stood out for how many different speed and board states it could play through. Farigiraf with Sitrus Berry, Armor Tail, Helping Hand, Psychic, Thunderbolt, and Trick Room gave the team both priority protection and a slower-mode option. That paired naturally with Basculegion, whose Life Orb, Adaptability, Last Respects, Wave Crash, Aqua Jet, and Protect set provided direct offensive pressure with a priority option of its own.

The Mega choices gave the team multiple pressure points. Blaziken with Blazikenite and Speed Boost threatened immediate damage through Close Combat and Flare Blitz, while Detect helped it access Speed Boost turns. Venusaur with Venusaurite, Chlorophyll, Sludge Bomb, Earth Power, Giga Drain, and Protect gave Pizzamemes a second Mega slot that attacked from a different angle. Kingambit rounded out the offensive core with Chople Berry, Defiant, Kowtow Cleave, Iron Head, Sucker Punch, and Low Kick, offering both priority and resistance to common positioning tools that trigger Defiant. Alolan Ninetales added Snow Warning, Light Clay, Aurora Veil, Blizzard, Encore, and Protect, giving the team a clear defensive screen option without dropping its tempo.

Across the top teams, Kingambit was the clearest repeated piece. It appeared on the first three teams, with Pizzamemes using Chople Berry, Naovi using Focus Sash, and LawrenceVGC using Black Glasses. All three carried Defiant and the familiar Kowtow Cleave, Iron Head, and Sucker Punch package, showing how reliable Kingambit remained as a late-game and anti-positioning attacker.

Whimsicott was also prominent, appearing on both Naovi’s and LawrenceVGC’s teams with Prankster, Tailwind, Encore, Moonblast, and Protect, while Naio used a similar Focus Sash Whimsicott with Sunny Day over Encore. Farigiraf appeared on the winning team and Naio’s fourth-place team, and also showed up further down the standings, consistently offering Armor Tail and Trick Room utility.

Weather and Mega pressure were major themes in the top cut of standings. Alolan Ninetales appeared on both Pizzamemes’ and LawrenceVGC’s teams, while Charizard with Charizardite Y appeared on both LawrenceVGC’s and Naio’s teams. Life Orb was another repeated offensive item across the top four, appearing on Basculegion, Hisuian Arcanine, Kommo-o, and Garchomp.

Takeaway for ladder players: prepare for flexible speed control, Kingambit endgames, and teams that can pivot between weather, screens, Tailwind, and Trick Room.
