Cactusmax’s winning team was built around flexible pressure rather than a single obvious speed plan. Sinistcha carried Kasib Berry with Hospitality, Bold nature, and Matcha Gotcha, Rage Powder, Trick Room, Protect, giving the team redirection, recovery support, and a Trick Room option. That paired cleanly with Kingambit, which used Black Glasses, Defiant, Adamant, and Kowtow Cleave, Sucker Punch, Swords Dance, Protect. With both Swords Dance and priority, Kingambit could threaten endgames while also punishing Intimidate-style positioning.
The support core was especially important. Sneasler held Focus Sash with Poison Touch and brought Fake Out, Close Combat, Dire Claw, Quick Guard, while Incineroar used Sitrus Berry, Intimidate, Careful nature, Parting Shot, Flare Blitz, Throat Chop, Fake Out. Double Fake Out access, Quick Guard, Rage Powder, and Parting Shot gave Cactusmax many ways to control early turns and create safe setup windows.
The offensive finishers were Eternal Flower Floette and Delphox. Eternal Flower Floette used Floettite, Flower Veil, Modest nature, Moonblast, Dazzling Gleam, Calm Mind, Protect, offering both spread Fairy pressure and a Calm Mind route. Delphox carried Delphoxite, Blaze, Timid nature, Heat Wave, Psyshock, Nasty Plot, Protect, adding fast special offense and another setup threat. Together, the team could pressure with Fake Out and redirection, slow the game with Trick Room, or snowball through Calm Mind, Nasty Plot, and Swords Dance.
Across the top cut of standings, Kingambit was the clearest recurring pick, appearing on six of the top eight teams. Sneasler also showed up repeatedly, including Focus Sash Poison Touch versions on Cactusmax, boredom, and jANMxRin. Eternal Flower Floette appeared on three of the top six teams, all with Floettite and Flower Veil. Incineroar remained a common stabilizer, while Basculegion appeared on Leon000, Testing444, and trevYah.
Items also clustered around familiar roles. Focus Sash appeared on several fast support or offensive Pokemon, including Sneasler, Whimsicott, Sableye, Basculegion, and Lycanroc Dusk. Life Orb was used on Gholdengo, Sylveon, Garchomp, Kingambit, and Pelipper across the top eight, while Sitrus Berry appeared on Incineroar, Pelipper, and Farigiraf.
Takeaway for ladder players: prioritize teams that can create multiple setup paths while still having Fake Out, redirection, and priority to control tempo.
